I’m not sure what to expect from this pitch

Despite scoring 52, Rohit Sharma had to retire hurt after scoring 52

The #NewYork

On Sunday, India captain Rohit Sharma was left with a bruised right bicep after the virgin drop-in track at Nassau County ground gave him a disconcerting bounce.

Despite what his skipper thought, key pacer Jasprit Bumrah won’t mind such conditions which are hard to find at home.

After scoring 52 off 37 balls, Rohit was struck in the bicep area of his right arm by a delivery from Ireland pacer Josh Little that bounced a bit extra and he missed his pull shot. I said it at the toss as well. I was quite uncertain of what to expect from the pitch. Rohit said with a straight face at the presentation ceremony, “I’m not sure what it’s like to play on a pitch that is five months old.”

While he was annoyed at the variable bounce of the ball, which resulted in it kicking from length, he said, “I don’t think the wicket settled down even when we batted second.” As his pace quartet bowled out Ireland for 96 in 16 overs, the Indian skipper said, “There was enough for the bowlers.” As three of the four pacers had played enough Tests, the conditions were ideal. Michael Vaughan’s substandard surface

The #NewYork

A former England captain called the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium pitch a “substandard surface” on Wednesday as the venue for India’s T20 World Cup match against Ireland. Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh led the Indian bowlers to a paltry 96 on a pitch with lots of bounce and seam. It is unacceptable that players have to play on such a substandard surface in New York.
